Current Grant Recipient

Johns Hopkins University Research Project

Our first grant supports clinical research of San Pedro at the Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. Under the leadership of Dr. Johnson and Dr. Roland Griffiths, the Center continues to advance its ground-breaking research on the clinical use of plant medicine for treatment resistant anxiety, major depression as well as other debilitating mental health challenges faced by millions of people globally. The Grandfather Project donated $100k to this project, which aims to be the most comprehensive literature review on San Pedro ever done.

The Q’ero People of Peru’s Sacred Valley (2020 - 2021)

Shortly after launching The Grandfather Project, the Covid pandemic brought an acute economic crisis to the indigenous community of Peru’s Sacred Valley, the home of San Pedro (or Huachuma). Heeding the call for help from our friends, elders and teachers in Peru, we decided to temporarily pause our first grant project and instead send all proceeds of sales directly to Q’ero community leaders, providing over 30,000 meals to those who needed them.

Inbodied Life (2019)

The Grandfather Project created a scholarship fund for the Inbodied Life Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Integration Training. Founded by Lauren Taus, Inbodied Life is a psychedelic education and training platform that provides evidence-based guidance to practitioners and patients alike. This scholarship fund ensures that individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds are given the opportunity to become practitioners and bring these powerful healing tools to the communities who need it most.
